Sustainability

We believe good design means less waste and beyond seasons. We make our products using high quality locally sourced raw material and producing everything in our studio in Islamabad, which not only gives us a better control on our quality but also helps us maintain ethical, fair and inclusive work culture.

  • What we do

CONSIDERED DESIGN

We at Bridge & Ciel design consciously beyond seasons. Every article is made carefully with minimum wastage. Each piece of clothing we make is traced down from fabric to final.

All our fabrics come from an environment that does not abuse the earth.
By choosing as many natural fibers as possible in our collections. Using environment friendly materials that can be recycled, if and when these garments end up in landfill they will biodegrade much faster than a garment made with synthetic fibres.
Synthetic fabrics have a long-lasting negative effect on the environment. Every time synthetic fabric is washed, hundreds of thousands of micro-plastics get carried into the water and end up being eaten by animals in the seas and rivers. We commit to using synthetic materials sparingly and only when absolutely necessary

Whatever garments you decide to buy, we strongly suggest to repair or recycle before throwing away.

CONSIDERED DEVELOPMENT

It takes a lot of effort, research, and travel to source the special materials we work with. And once found, it often takes a long time to develop. All our clothing is made in our own production studio. While this increases our cost of operation, it allows us to ensure safety of workers with fair wages and quality working environment.
We truly believe this results in the highest quality and responsibly made products.
With fairly paid labour and producers with improved social and environmental standards we aim to bring Gender Equality.
We have made a choice to be inclusive, fair and responsible.
We provide training enabling our to improve their skill and grow. At no point is financial gain given precedence over physical and mental health.

ECO CONSCIOUSNESS

We understand that fashion industry is known for its excessive waste effecting our environment and climate change. No matter what we do, making clothes takes its toll on the world we live in. A changing season doesn’t necessarily have to mean a changing wardrobe. The only way is to make less of them. We want you to buy less, wear longer and throw less.

PACKAGING

We use fully recycled packaging during shipment and processing. We also try to minimise all excessive wrapping for our products and plastic from the journey of our clothing pieces till it reaches you.

UPCYCLING

We work towards minimal wastage despite our efforts any waste created during cutting stage is reused. The waste gives us an opportunity to upcycle to create products. We started a ‘zero waste project’ specifically dedicated to this effort.

Fair Trade And Ethical Fashion
Practicing and working guided by good moral principles at every stage of our working.

As a business model we address United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovative approach to fashion. Aligning and contributing to,

Conscious Creation and Consumption (Goal 12) , Sustainable Cities and Communities (Goal 11), Women Empowerment (Goal 5)

  •  What you can do

Whilst we are focusing on ensuring the best environmental standards of producing your garments, you can make a big difference too on what you do with your garment once you own it.
Made To Last
Repair-reuse-reduce is the only responsible way to treat your garments and – at the same time – look after the environment.
Wear with care. Everything in our collection is crafted with longevity in mind. Here we share tips on how to make your pieces last as long as they were designed to.

CLEANING

Wash according to the instructions relating to the specific material your garment is made of. Washing your clothes uses an awful lot of water. We suggest you wash when needed. It’s probably not needed as often. You can spot clean; try airing them, or hand washing to cut down on water consumption. When possible hang dry your clothes rather than tumble-drying them A good rule of thumb is to wash gently by hand, or at low temperature/low cycle if using a machine.
Detergents
Use only low-impact and mild detergents for your clothing. This way, the effect on the environment is kept to a minimum.

REPAIR And Recycle

Repair any small holes or irregularities before they grow and wear with care.
Repairing your clothes is an easy and effective way of extending your garment’s life. Never discard an item – there is always an alternative solution. Recycling is a very essential part that we can all play in trying to clean up the fashion world.

DONATE

When you have fallen out of love with any of your clothes, we encourage you donate them to someone who is in need. Reach out to local charities to give your unwanted clothes a new wearer.

Giving more attention for sustainability at this stage can potentially improve energy use, reduce waste, and engage with consumers into making more informed choices and long life purchases.
